Christmas by the river – Singapore may not fit the traditional image of what one would associate with this widely celebrated holiday. This city does not have the cold winter wind or the snow that usually comes with Christmas but the city does know how to have a blast when it comes to celebrating it. From Nov 30th – Dec 31st, feast your eyes as the whole of Singapore’s riverbank magically transforms; and beautiful thematic decorations, dazzling displays of larger than life structures, enchanting lights and splashes of significant gold and blue throng the riverbed. Watch street performers bring their magical characters to life, entertaining people with their enthralling antics. Be prepared to be serenaded by the beautiful voices of A Cappella carollers while enjoying the colourfully decorated LED kites swooping through the air. To shop and to explore Singapore three days is ideal. Any more and it becomes repetitive and any less will cause certain shopping areas to be missed. Arrive in the evening if possible and get a good night sleep before heading off in exploration.
