Dubai, 25 November 2012:- Volunteers from Fraser Suites Dubai gathered at Nad Al Sheba, Dubai to participate in the Clean up the World (CUW) campaign last Friday, 23rd November 2012. This marks the second year in a row that Fraser Suites Dubai has contributed to this event since the property officially opened in October 2010, and is consistent with the Company’s “think globally, act locally” commitment to environmental awareness.
According to David Brown, General Manager of Fraser Suites Dubai, “Our Company recognizes that it has a responsibility to make a positive contribution to global environmental awareness issues and this is best done through participation in community based activities. Clean Up the World engages an estimated 35 million volunteers in 130 countries each year, making it one of the largest community based environmental campaigns in the world. The campaign is supported by United Nations Environment Program (UNEP) with this year’s theme of “Our Place… Our Planet… Our Responsibility”
The campaign focuses public attention on global community concerns for the environment and how each individual can make a positive contribution to a cleaner and healthier world. Groups, organizations, schools and businesses from communities around the Emirate of Dubai unite on Clean up the World Weekend to take action at a local level to address global environmental issues. It aims to make the local creek, beaches, parks and streets healthy and clean by removing and recycling rubbish that is spoiling them.
By facilitating local action, Clean Up the World brings about global environmental change.
