Other things may change, but we start and end with family.

“Strong, well-functioning families, whatever form they may take, can help reduce poverty, improve the wellbeing of mothers, promote gender equality and uphold human rights.”

– Ban Ki-moon, Secretary-General, United Nations

It’s the International Day of Families, as proclaimed by the UN General Assembly since 1993! In many countries, this day provides an opportunity for leaders to highlight different areas of interest and importance to families. To celebrate, we’ve highlighted five fun activities for you to do with your family today or over the upcoming weekend!

#1: Schedule a movie date

Nothing beats getting together for some good old-fashioned entertainment at the cinema. For families with younger kids, there’s Rio 2, featuring beloved characters Blu and Jewel. For older teens, there’s Captain America: The Winter Soldier and Godzilla.

#2: Plan a staycation

Spend some quality time with your family away from the distractions of home and office. And why not do this at any of our properties around the world? To see the full list of Frasers offers available across the globe, visit: http://bit.ly/1suRYdU

#3: Game night

Games with the family can be barrels of fun! Order in pizza and attempt family games like Cluedo or Uno.

#4: Lend a helping hand

Helping those in need is a great way to spend our time, and also gives us the opportunity to teach our children compassion. The easiest way to do it is to allocate one day this weekend to volunteer with your kids.

#5: Put on a play

If you’ve a big enough family, then use this opportunity to put on a play involving all members! A useful tip: Consider using the books your kids are currently covering in school to do this to show them how fun learning can be!
